Page Title: Troubleshooting Outlook (291x28 gif)

Have you ever received stationery that does not seem to work properly. The background graphics maybe missing or the scrolls do not work as they should.

This problem became evident when Microsoft released the updated version of Outlook Express and the security updates and patches for Outlook. Among other things one of the DLL files was modified and it is this DLL that is stopping the stationery from working the way it should.

I had this problem and it was so frustrating. I eventually found a way to resolve it.

If you are having this problem and wish to overcome it then simply download this file and extract it to the Windows/System32 folder.
inetcomm.dll

It should be noted that once you replace the existing DLL with this one then windows may want you to download a patch/update for Outlook. This is because the DLL files are different and Microsoft will want to give you the latest DLL.

If you download the suggested update then you will need to go through this process again.

Another problem area caused by the changes to Outlook was the way it handled media files, or should I say didn't handle media files.

If you are having problems with media files in Outlook then I suggest you download and install this file. It will allow you to force Outlook to use the settings it used to use before all the changes were made.
